Three Conferences, One Busy Month
Posted on May 8, 2026 by philip
The coming month will be an exciting one for the Forentrics team, as we’ll be attending and contributing to three different forensic and policing events across Europe.
We always value opportunities to meet investigators, forensic scientists, researchers, and students in person, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of forensic technology and Bloodstain Pattern Analysis.
Here’s where you can find us next month:
Study Day: AI Applications in Policing — Belgium
Our first stop is the study day organized by the Centre for Policing and Security in Belgium, focusing on the growing role of artificial intelligence within police operations.
The program explores how AI technologies are increasingly being applied across modern policing workflows, including investigation support, operational decision-making, digital analysis, and forensic applications. As AI continues to evolve rapidly, events like these are essential for encouraging informed discussion about both the opportunities and challenges these technologies bring to law enforcement.
We are looking forward to engaging with Belgian policing professionals and sharing perspectives on how AI-driven forensic tools can support investigators in practical casework.
Next, we’ll be traveling to Sofia for the upcoming International Association of Forensic Sciences (IAFS) meeting.
IAFS brings together experts from a wide range of forensic disciplines, creating a unique environment for interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration. We are very much looking forward to presenting our work, learning from other researchers and practitioners, and discussing new developments across the forensic sciences.
Events like IAFS are incredibly valuable because they connect specialists from many different domains, from forensic biology and chemistry to digital forensics, crime scene reconstruction, and beyond.
Finally, we’ll be heading to Rotterdam for the upcoming IABPA European Training Conference, where we’ll be hosting a hands-on HemoVision workshop.
During the workshop, participants will get practical experience using HemoVision for Bloodstain Pattern Analysis workflows, including scene reconstruction, trajectory analysis, and visualization tools.
To make the workshop as accessible as possible, laptops will be available for participants during the session. However, attendees are also welcome to bring their own laptops if they prefer working on their own system.
All workshop participants will receive a free HemoVision trial license, allowing them to continue exploring the software after the conference and experiment further with the techniques demonstrated during the session.
Want to get a head start before the conference? Absolutely. Feel free to contact us in advance and we’ll happily provide your trial license ahead of time so you can install HemoVision and start exploring before the workshop begins.

We are proud to share that Kristin Russell and Eugene Liscio have published an independent validation study evaluating the accuracy of HemoVision’s Area of Origin (AO) analysis capabilities. The publication represents a major milestone for HemoVision and the broader forensic community. Independent validation studies are essential for establishing the scientific reliability of forensic tools, particularly […]
A new independent study by Savita Brickman-Maxwell and Eugene Liscio has evaluated the accuracy of HemoVision’s new cast-off bloodstain pattern analysis feature. The paper represents the first dedicated validation study of HemoVision’s cast-off workflow and marks an exciting step forward for forensic BPA technology. The study investigates HemoVision’s ability to estimate the swing path of […]
